Greg Slayton
Assistant Professor of Mathematics

Greg Slayton comes to CRC from Arkansas State University – Newport, where he instructed various math and physics courses since 2013. Since January 2023, he was the Mathematics specialist for ASUN’s Adult Education program. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at CRC during the Spring 2024 semester, teaching College Algebra on site. Slayton has officer duties in the Arkansas Association of Teachers of Mathematics and the Arkansas Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges. He is also a member of the Arkansas Association of Mathematics Leaders.

His wife, Joan Linnstaedter, is an English and Literature instructor on the Paragould campus of Black River Technical College. They have been married thirty-four years and live on twenty acres in the Scatter Creek Area of Greene County.

Mr. Slayton is a graduate of Greene County Tech and a veteran of the United Sates NAVY. After his undergraduate studies, he earned completed Texas A&M’s alternate teaching certification program. He is a lifelong outdoorsman and is dedicated to community service.  He served as a board member and volunteer for Northeast Arkansans for Animals from 1997-2007, an Arkansas Hunter Education Instructor from 2002-2008, a member of the Greene County Single Parent Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors from 2012-2017 (President 2015-2017), and a member of the Arkansas Association for Developmental Education from 2013-2017.
